About the author

Hristo Kalpakov

Trader and author of “The Trader’s Path” — the book that promises no fast money, but builds the thinking that keeps you in the market long enough to win.

Why I wrote this book

As we grow up, we start trading our time — for money, for help, for the people we care about. To me, a trader isn’t simply someone who moves money around. He trades his experience, his hours, his effort, his belief. He plants seeds that one day bear fruit. Sometimes that fruit is sweet, sometimes bitter. But there is always a lesson in it.

Years in the market taught me something no indicator shows: you lose not because you don’t know enough, but because at the decisive moment you are not the one pressing the button. Instinct presses it. Or emotion. And you pay the bill afterwards.

That’s why the book doesn’t open with charts but with the three brains — the reptilian, the emotional and the rational. If you don’t know which one is in command at the moment of the trade, every strategy is just a pretty plan on paper.

What the market taught me

That it is neither an enemy nor a friend — it simply reflects you. In it you see your fears, your weaknesses, your greed, your ambition, even your pride. Accept that early and you save yourself years and a great deal of money. Refuse to, and you pay the stupidity tax every week.

I wrote “The Trader’s Path” as a compass for people who want to chase their goals, train their minds, and stay standing when the world around them shakes. It works in the market. It works outside it too.

The three principles I live by

Character first, technique second You can have a system, knowledge and platforms. Without character the market will take them from you.
Patience is a weapon, not a weakness The market doesn’t pay for activity. It pays for precision — and precision requires waiting.
I learn from trades, not from opinions The journal tells the truth. Memory lies, and other people’s forecasts carry no responsibility.
